Fukuoka is a compact city to train in: all but one of the gyms that sell visitors a pass are within 2 km of the centre, mostly around Tenjin and Nakasu-Kawabata, and ¥2,000 to ¥3,300 buys a session, as long as you arrive when visitors are let in.
Tourists can buy a gym day pass in Fukuoka: as of October 2026, Daily Sweat lists 13 Fukuoka gyms with one, and the 10 with a known price charge from ¥2,000 to ¥3,300, with ¥2,728 the typical price. 6 sell it at the front desk, and 6 sell online. The catch: the 24-hour Anytime Fitness branches admit visitors only while staff are in, roughly 10:00–19:00, and the Imaizumi branch takes cash only.
Below: seven gyms worth the trip, then which ones are near your hotel, what passes cost, how buying a visitor pass (ビジター利用) works, and which gyms let you train late. Seven Fukuoka gyms worth the trip
From ¥2,000 at Anytime Fitness to ¥3,300 at VALX GYM in Tenjin, with an independent you can enter at any hour and a Gold’s Gym in the basement of Hakata Riverain Mall. Each gym’s card shows the listing’s current price and when it was last checked.
1. Anytime Fitness Chiyo and Imaizumi — ¥2,000 in staffed hours
Anytime Fitness Hakata Chiyo, at Chiyo 2-1-15 in Hakata Ward, sells a paid visitor or one-day experience pass for ¥2,000 including tax at the front desk, per its official branch page (September 2026). You can use it between 10:00 and 19:00 and must leave by 19:00, although the club is listed as open 24 hours; the branch’s free weekly trial is for residents only. Tattoos must be covered, and the page shows a free-weight area (official branch page).
Near Tenjin, Anytime Fitness Imaizumi, on the 2nd floor of IN PLACE at Imaizumi 2-4-28, around the corner from VALX GYM, also charged nonmembers ¥2,000 per session in a March 2026 review, but cash only: the reviewer walked 2 km in the rain and was turned away because “they refused to take my credit card”. Staff hours on its official page are 10:00–19:00, and it is a 9-minute walk from Nishitetsu Fukuoka station (official branch page). See our Anytime Fitness page.
2. Anytime Fitness Tenyamachi — ¥2,200 by Gofukumachi station
Anytime Fitness Tenyamachi, on the 1st floor of Random Square I at Tenyamachi 6-18, sells ¥2,200 day visitor access during staffed hours, 10:00–18:50, with last admission at 17:30, per its official branch page (September 2026). It accepts cash and cashless payment and allows outdoor sports shoes, but there is no rental kit, so bring your own clothes, water and toiletries. A 2025 reviewer found it a two-minute walk from Gofukumachi Station, with a good selection of cardio machines but few “serious anaerobic machines”; an August 2026 visitor called it “convenient for a resistance training during a business trip or vacations” (official branch page).
3. EVOLGEAR GYM — ¥2,200 and open to visitors around the clock
EVOLGEAR GYM, an independent on the 1st floor at Tenyamachi 6-28, on the same block as Anytime Tenyamachi, sells ¥2,200 day access including tax on its official website (September 2026). You register and book online, then open the door with a QR code, and the visitor plan covers all 24 hours on weekdays, weekends and holidays. The site describes free weights, a power rack and showers. A May 2026 reviewer called it a “perfect day use gym for travelers” (official site).
Do the paperwork before you leave: a March 2026 visitor warned that registration and payment happen on the website, “so be sure to do it beforehand”, and that Sundays are unstaffed. Tattoos must be covered by clothing, not stickers, a May 2026 reviewer says, and visitors drink from the tap rather than the members’ water fountain.
4. AUN’S GYM — ¥2,728 for heavy lifting in Tenjin
24h fitness AUN’S GYM 福岡天神店 (AUN’S GYM Fukuoka Tenjin), on the 2nd floor at Tenjin 3-2-22, charges ¥2,728 including tax (¥2,480 before tax) for visitor entry, per its official site (September 2026). Reviewers from 2024 to January 2026 paid ¥2,200, so expect the new price. You register through the site’s LINE route and choose visitor access; a November 2025 reviewer says it takes online credit-card payment only (official site).
Lifters rate it highly: “Perhaps the most well equipped gym I’ve ever been to in Japan!”, a December 2024 reviewer wrote, adding that it issues only 20 day passes a day and that you need the Akerun app to unlock the door outside staffed hours. A January 2026 visitor counted “several squat racks and so many machines”, but few cardio machines and a tight, low-ceilinged floor. It is a mixed gym with a women’s section, 5 minutes on foot from Tenjin station.
5. Gold’s Gym Hakata Riverain — ¥2,860 for up to five hours
Gold’s Gym Hakata Riverain, on B1 of Hakata Riverain Mall at Shimokawabatamachi 3-1, charges visitors ¥2,860 including tax for up to five hours at the front desk, per its official price page (September 2026). Bring your passport: the page asks non-Japanese visitors for one and says it is copied. A June 2026 traveller and a friend both got day passes from English-speaking staff and found it “relatively expensive”, with “no outside shoes and cover up tattoos”, like most gyms in Japan (official price page). See our Gold’s Gym page.
6. Anytime Fitness Watanabedori — ¥3,000 with racks and showers
Two Watanabedori branches charge ¥3,000 for visitor access via GYYM, per their official pages (September 2026), and both record free weights, a power rack and showers. エニタイムフィットネス 渡辺通3丁目店 (Anytime Fitness Watanabedori 3-chome), on a 2nd floor in Watanabedōri 3-chōme, also sells at the desk; a September 2026 visitor wrote that “even for a tourist like me there is an option for a one day pass”, and a May 2026 business traveller praised the free-weight zone, power racks and freshly cleaned showers, easy to reach from Tenjin and Yakuin (official branch page).
Anytime Fitness Watanabedori, at Kiyokawa 1-5-13, sells online only. An April 2025 visitor confirmed the ¥3,000 price and advised arriving after 10:00, when staff are in. A June 2026 reviewer found it exceptionally clean, spacious and bright; an April 2026 one found it small, with no shampoo or body soap (official branch page).
7. VALX GYM — ¥3,300 for a 4.9-star floor in Tenjin
VALX GYM Fukuoka Tenjin, on the 3rd floor of Tenjin Luce at Tenjin 2-3-24, sells its day pass online, and the official page (September 2026) advertises a visitor plan. The ¥3,300 price, card only, comes from the March 2026 reviewer turned away from Anytime Imaizumi around the corner, who found “far better facility and equipment” here. A May 2026 reviewer said you “only need a few buttons on the website for a one day pass”, another praised the protein drinks, and a February 2026 visitor was walked through payment by staff using Google Translate (official site).
Where to train, by neighbourhood
All 13 listings are in Chuo and Hakata wards, and all but LifeFit lie within 2 km of the centre. Check the walk from your hotel on the Fukuoka gym map.
- Tenjin, Imaizumi and Nagahama: AUN’S GYM (¥2,728), VALX GYM (¥3,300), Anytime Fitness Imaizumi (¥2,000, cash) and VISION24 福岡天神店 (Vision24 Tenjin, in Kitera Town Nagahama; ¥2,200 in a 2023 review, so ask at the desk). Anytime’s Daimyo and Akasaka pages mention visitors, but Daily Sweat has no confirmed pass there yet, so ask at the desk.
- Watanabedori, Kiyokawa and Takasago: both Anytime Fitness Watanabedori branches (¥3,000) and JOYFIT24ジムLITE高砂1丁目 (JOYFIT24 Gym LITE Takasago 1-chome, metered time passes). 24時間ジム THE NUDE福岡薬院店 (THE NUDE Yakuin) has no confirmed pass.
- Nakasu-Kawabata and Gofukumachi: Gold’s Gym Hakata Riverain (¥2,860), Anytime Fitness Tenyamachi and EVOLGEAR GYM (¥2,200 each). Haco Gym Nakasu has private free-weight rooms but no confirmed day pass; ask about a visitor option.
- Gion and Chiyo: FIT PLACE24 博多祇園店 (FIT PLACE24 Hakata Gion, price not yet listed) and Anytime Fitness Hakata Chiyo (¥2,000). Near Hakata Station, Anytime Fitness Hakata Ekimae and FIT PLACE24 博多駅南店 have no confirmed pass.
- Ropponmatsu: LifeFit 六本松店 (LifeFit Ropponmatsu), 2.8 km out, with pay-per-use tickets in its app.
Of the 13 listings, 7 note free weights, 6 a power rack and 3 showers (EVOLGEAR and both Watanabedori branches); none records a sauna or pool, and a blank doesn’t mean a gym lacks something. Our hotel gym vs day pass guide helps if your hotel has a gym.
How much does a gym day pass cost in Fukuoka?
A gym day pass in Fukuoka costs ¥2,000 to ¥3,300, typically ¥2,728, as of October 2026, across the 10 of 13 listings that show a price. The range is narrow:
- ¥2,000–¥2,200: Anytime Fitness Hakata Chiyo and Imaizumi (¥2,000), Anytime Fitness Tenyamachi and EVOLGEAR GYM (¥2,200), plus VISION24 (¥2,200, a 2023 price that may no longer apply).
- ¥2,728–¥2,860: AUN’S GYM and Gold’s Gym Hakata Riverain.
- ¥3,000–¥3,300: the two Anytime Fitness Watanabedori branches and VALX GYM.
Anytime prices are set branch by branch, from ¥2,000 to ¥3,000; the dearer Watanabedori clubs give you until 21:00 to leave and record racks and showers. Three listings have no flat price: FIT PLACE24 Hakata Gion’s 2025 reviewers bought a one-day pass, price unrecorded; LifeFit sells a single-use ticket in its app; and JOYFIT24 Takasago sells an ENJOY TIME PASS at ¥1,100 per 30 minutes, which is metered visitor access rather than a day pass, so total up your session first.
None of the 13 listings offers a free trial, so plan on paying for every visit. Each gym’s page shows where its price came from and when it was last checked.
Buying a pass: what to know
Desk gyms: arrive in the visitor window
6 of the 13 listings sell at the front desk — four Anytime Fitness branches, Gold’s Gym and VISION24 — and at Anytime that only works while staff are in: 10:00–19:00 at Hakata Chiyo and Imaizumi, last admission 17:30 at Tenyamachi, and entry by 19:00 at the Watanabedori branches. Gold’s Gym caps a visit at five hours.
Online gyms: register before you set off
6 sell online, and two more through LINE (AUN’S GYM) or an app (LifeFit). Reviewers from 2024 to 2026 got through AUN’S GYM’s Japanese sign-up with Google Translate, and EVOLGEAR and VALX take a few minutes on their websites; FIT PLACE24 Hakata Gion asks you to create an account, find the day-pass option and book a training slot. “If you just show up at the door, chances are you won’t get in because it’s already full”, a September 2025 visitor warned, and an October 2025 reviewer spent 30 minutes on apps and then waited 50 minutes for their slot.
Cash, cards and ID
One listing is cash only — Anytime Fitness Imaizumi — while VALX and AUN’S GYM take cards only, per 2025–26 reviews, and Tenyamachi takes both. Bring your passport: Gold’s Gym asks for one, and Anytime Tenyamachi and both Watanabedori branches ask for ID.
What the pass leaves out
One listing requires indoor shoes — Gold’s Gym — while Anytime Tenyamachi, both Watanabedori branches and VALX allow outdoor sports shoes. Anytime Tenyamachi and Watanabedori rent no kit, VALX has no showers, and several gyms have no free water, so pack clothes, a towel, toiletries and a bottle. Cover tattoos at Anytime Hakata Chiyo, EVOLGEAR, Gold’s Gym and VALX. Our Japanese gym etiquette guide covers the rest; for kit, see our carry-on gym packing list, and if no visitor window fits your day, try our 30-minute hotel gym workout.
One message settles most of it
Hello, I’m visiting Fukuoka and would like to use your gym as a visitor on [date]. What is the visitor price, when can visitors enter, and which ID and payment methods do you accept? Do I need indoor shoes or a towel?
「ビジター利用はできますか?」 (bijitā riyō wa dekimasu ka? — “Can I use the gym as a visitor?”)
Day pass or weekly pass?
No Fukuoka listing has a weekly price, so most stays mean paying per visit. The one multi-visit deal on record:
- EVOLGEAR GYM: ¥2,200 a day or ¥4,400 for three visits within seven days, per its site (September 2026). It isn’t an unlimited week: you book each visit, but the days needn’t be consecutive, a May 2026 reviewer notes. Two visits cost the same either way, so it pays off if you train three times.
- Don’t count on a desk deal: in March 2026 a visitor offered Anytime Fitness Imaizumi ¥10,000 upfront for five sessions and was still refused.
For the general maths, see day pass vs weekly pass vs monthly membership.
Training late: 24-hour gyms and visitors
12 of the 13 listings are open 24 hours — every one except Gold’s Gym — but that rarely applies to a day pass:
- Around the clock: EVOLGEAR’s visitor plan covers 24 hours, with QR entry, and a June 2025 reviewer trained there in the afternoon and at night. At AUN’S GYM, a December 2024 reviewer says the Akerun app opens the door outside staffed hours.
- Book a slot: FIT PLACE24 Hakata Gion sells by time slot; VALX GYM is listed as open 24 hours, so confirm when visitors may enter as you book.
- Daytime only: all five Anytime Fitness branches limit visitors to staffed hours, with the latest exit 21:00 at Watanabedori.
Chains run 11 of the 13 listings: Anytime Fitness has 5, and AUN’S GYM, FIT PLACE24, Gold’s Gym, JOYFIT, LifeFit and VALX one each. The two independents are EVOLGEAR and VISION24. For a 6:00 session before an early train, EVOLGEAR is the surest bet on record.

Find a Fukuoka gym that fits your trip
Daily Sweat keeps every Fukuoka gym with a confirmed day pass on one page, with the price, how to buy, opening hours and facilities for each. Start with the Fukuoka gym list to filter by facility, or open the map to see what is near your hotel, then confirm visitor hours and ID rules with the gym before you set off.
Search a city and use the map to find convenient options. Where available, listings show day-pass and weekly prices, how to buy access, facilities, opening hours, photos, and visitor notes. You can compare nearby alternatives and use website or map links to plan your visit. Chain pages show every branch of a brand with a confirmed pass, and day pass prices compares typical costs by country and city.
Daily Sweat is free to browse, and you don’t need an account to search. It’s a directory: you buy access through the gym or the booking option described in its listing.
Some details will still need checking, particularly when a price is missing or your visit depends on a specific facility. Traveller contributions and corrections help keep the information useful.
The aim is simple: spend less time figuring out where you can train, and more time enjoying the place you came to visit.
