Osaka Gym Day Passes: Where to Train, Prices and Tips for Tourists

Your Namba business hotel has a treadmill and little else, and you want a proper session before dinner on Dotonbori. Osaka’s gyms will sell you a single visit, as long as you arrive when visitors are let in.

This guide picks seven options, from Umeda to Shinsaibashi, and flags the rules to check before you pay for a visitor pass (ビジター利用). This shortlist runs from ¥2,000 at Anytime Fitness to ¥4,400 at Fit Easy Umeda; most options cost ¥2,530 to ¥2,860.

1. Anytime Fitness: a ¥2,000 daytime pass in Yodoyabashi

Consider it if: you’re staying around Yodoyabashi or Kitahama and can train in the daytime.

Anytime Fitness Yodoyabashi Ekimae, at Kitahama 3-5-22, sells a ¥2,000 visitor pass at the front desk, per its official store page (September 2026). The catch: visitors are admitted 10:00–19:00 only, although the club is listed as open 24 hours.

Payment is cashless only, you need photo ID (a passport is fine), visible tattoos aren’t allowed and the pass covers this store only (official store page).

2. Urban Fit 24: one price at four branches

Consider it if: you want a well-equipped lifting gym close to your hotel.

Urban Fit 24 sells a ¥2,530 visitor pass at the front desk of all four Osaka branches, per its official price pages (September 2026). The pass is valid 11:00–21:00, even though every branch is listed as open 24 hours.

• Umeda (Nishitenma 4-15-18): reviewers mention three squat racks, dumbbells to 50 kg and English-speaking staff; wear, towel and shoe rental costs ¥990 (official site).
• Tenmabashi (Shimamachi 1-2-12): travellers praise bodybuilding-grade equipment and clean showers (official site).
• Nagahoribashi (Shimanouchi 1-22-17): 2026 reviewers mention QR entry, Technogym machines and dumbbells to 54 kg (official site).
• Fukushima (Fukushima 7-15-26): a November 2025 reviewer found friendly staff and clean lockers (official site).

3. Lifix: three floors of new machines near Shinsaibashi

Consider it if: you’re staying around Shinsaibashi and want modern machines and a good shower afterwards.

Lifix, at Shimanouchi 2-17-13 near Shinsaibashi, charges ¥2,650 per visit at the front desk, per its official price page (September 2026). Visitors can train 9:30–20:30, with last entry at 19:30, although the listing shows 24-hour opening.

Reviewers in July and August 2026 call it the best gym in Japan, describing three floors of new, carefully chosen machines and showers with Mirable heads (official site).

4. AUN’S GYM: heavy free weights in Umeda

Consider it if: you’re staying in Umeda and want heavy dumbbells and racks.

AUN’S GYM 大阪梅田店, in a basement next to the FamilyMart at Taiyuji-cho 8-8 in Umeda, charges ¥2,728 including tax for a visitor pass. You register and pay on LINE or the web and receive a QR code valid for 24 hours, per its official store page (September 2026).

Reviews from 2025 to February 2026 describe a huge amount of equipment, dumbbells to 70 kg and three squat racks. The listing shows 24-hour opening (official store page).

5. Gold’s Gym: five-hour visits at three branches

Consider it if: you want a long session with a familiar name.

The three Osaka branches of Gold’s Gym, in Umeda, Nakanoshima and Shinsaibashi, each charge ¥2,860 per visit (up to 5 hours) at the front desk, per the official membership pages (September 2026). Non-Japanese visitors show a passport, which is copied.

• Umeda (Chayamachi 15-31): a 2025 reviewer found English-speaking staff, a sauna, a women-only machine section and mandatory shoe rental. Check opening hours on the gym’s page (official site).
• Nakanoshima (Dojima Cross Walk 3F): indoor shoes required, rented for ¥340 in reviews; sauna listed. Open 7:00 AM – 11:30 PM, Sunday 9:00 AM – 10:00 PM (official site).
• Shinsaibashi (BIG STEP 6F): indoor shoes required; same hours as Nakanoshima (official site).

6. 999/fitness gym triple nine: premium strength kit in Honmachi

Consider it if: you’re staying around Honmachi and want high-end machines and several racks.

999/fitness gym triple nine, at Minamihonmachi 3-2-21 by Honmachi station, sells a ¥3,300 one-day pass (一日利用) at the front desk. Its official site (September 2026) says you just walk in during staffed hours.

Overseas visitors can also buy a week (¥10,000) or a month (¥25,000) with a passport. Four traveller reviews from 2026 describe a spotless gym with high-end Drax machines and multiple racks, and the listing records showers (official site).

7. Konami and Fit Easy: a pool or sauna in Umeda

Consider it if: you want a swim or a sauna with your workout near Osaka Station.

Konami Sport Club Osaka Station City, on floors 11–13 of the North Gate Building in Umeda, charges ¥3,630 per visit (都度利用プラン) at the front desk, per its official price page (September 2026). It’s the only Osaka listing with a pool, and it lists a sauna. It keeps shorter hours at weekends and is closed Thursdays (official site).

Also in Umeda, Fit Easy Umeda (Dojima 1-1-5) sells an “FE 1Day Pass” for ¥4,400 including tax, no membership needed: register on your phone or come in staff hours, per its official page (September 2026). Its listing records showers and a sauna (official page).

How much does a gym day pass cost in Osaka?

A gym day pass in Osaka costs ¥2,000 to ¥4,500, typically ¥2,860, as of September 2026, across the 16 of 20 listings that show a price.

What moves the price:

• Visitor hours: the cheapest passes cover set hours, as at Anytime Fitness Yodoyabashi Ekimae (¥2,000) and Urban Fit 24 (¥2,530). NEO TRAINING GYM 本町 in Honmachi also charges ¥2,000, but its listing records no showers.
• Session length and wellness: Gold’s Gym’s ¥2,860 buys up to 5 hours; Konami charges ¥3,630 with a pool and Fit Easy Umeda ¥4,400 with a sauna.
• Classes: Minami Life Gym, a CrossFit-style gym in Nipponbashi, charges ¥4,500, the top of the range, for a drop-in that can include a group class.
• Rentals: indoor shoes cost ¥340 at Gold’s Gym Nakanoshima (reviews) and ¥550 at Torque gym Namba.

None of the 20 listings offers a free trial, so plan on paying for every visit.

• Honmachi: NEO TRAINING GYM (¥2,000) and 999/fitness gym triple nine (¥3,300).

Of the 20 listings, 13 note free weights and 7 a power rack: Anytime Fitness Yodoyabashi Ekimae, AUN’S GYM, 999/fitness gym triple nine, EXE GYM, Torque gym Namba and Urban Fit 24’s Umeda and Nagahoribashi branches. Beyond the gym floor, 9 list showers, 4 a sauna and 1 a pool; a blank doesn’t mean a gym lacks something.

Day pass or weekly pass?

It depends on the gym: a week pays off from your third visit at Minami Life Gym, your fourth at Anytime Fitness Yodoyabashi Ekimae and 999/fitness gym triple nine, and your fifth at Urban Fit 24.

Rules that catch visitors out in Osaka

Most surprises come down to visitor hours, ID, shoes and payment; our Japanese gym etiquette guide covers the rest.

• Visitor windows at 24-hour gyms. Anytime Fitness Yodoyabashi Ekimae and Powerhouse Gym Osaka (last entry 18:00) admit visitors 10:00–19:00, though both are listed as open 24 hours. EXE GYM sells day passes only while reception is open, an April 2026 reviewer says; a 2025 visitor found the door locked outside staff hours.
• Passport or photo ID. All three Gold’s Gym branches ask non-Japanese visitors for a passport and copy it; Anytime Fitness Yodoyabashi Ekimae and NEO TRAINING GYM require photo ID.
• Indoor shoes. 3 of the 20 listings require them: Gold’s Gym Nakanoshima and Shinsaibashi, and Torque gym Namba (rental ¥550). A 2025 reviewer also paid for shoe rental at Gold’s Gym Umeda.
• Cashless desks and apps. None of the 20 is cash only, but Anytime Fitness Yodoyabashi Ekimae takes no cash and AUN’S GYM sells via LINE or the web.
• Tattoos. Anytime Fitness Yodoyabashi Ekimae bars visible tattoos, and a 2024 reviewer at Gold’s Gym Nakanoshima reports being checked for tattoos and refused.
• Refusals and age limits. A 2023 reviewer at Konami was told day passes aren’t sold to tourists; Powerhouse Gym Osaka admits visitors aged 16 and over.

What to check before leaving your hotel

Before you set off, check three things:

• The visitor window, not just the opening hours.
• Your passport, and a card in case the desk takes no cash.
• Clean indoor trainers in a bag, a towel and water.
