Privacy Policy
Last updated: 21 July 2026
Daily Sweat (“we”, “us”) is a crowd-sourced directory of gyms that offer day passes. This policy explains what personal information we collect when you use dailysweat.co, how we use it, and the choices you have.
Information we collect
Information you give us
- Account details. When you create an account we collect your email address. If you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email address, profile picture, and Google account identifier from Google — we never receive your Google password.
- Contributions. Gyms you add, edits you suggest, day-pass details, reports, check-ins (“I trained here”), and thanks you send. These are submitted for moderation and, once approved, become part of the public directory.
Information we collect automatically
- Approximate location. With your permission, your browser or device shares your approximate location so we can show cities and gyms near you. We use it to answer that request and do not build a location history from it.
- Usage and device data. IP address, browser and device type, pages viewed, referring pages, and interactions with the site, collected to keep the service running, secure, and to understand how it is used.
- Cookies and local storage. We use them to keep you signed in and for analytics. See Cookies below.
How we use your information
- To provide, maintain, and improve the directory and your account.
- To review, moderate, publish, and attribute your contributions.
- To understand usage, diagnose errors, and improve performance.
- To protect against abuse, fraud, and security threats, and to comply with law.
- To contact you about your account or material changes to the service.
Where the law requires a legal basis, we rely on your consent (for optional location and analytics), the performance of our agreement with you (to run your account), and our legitimate interests (to operate, secure, and improve the service and moderate content).
Public contributions
Daily Sweat is a public directory. Gyms, day-pass information, and edits you submit are shown publicly once approved. Contributions are attributed by first name and initial (for example, “Alex K.”) — never your full email address. Please don’t include personal or confidential information in a submission.
Service providers we share data with
We don’t sell your personal information. We share it only with providers who process it on our behalf to run the service:
- Supabase — database, authentication, and file storage.
- Vercel — application hosting and privacy-friendly, aggregated traffic analytics.
- Google — sign-in (OAuth) and maps and place search. When you use pages with Google Maps, Google’s Privacy Policy applies to that use.
- PostHog — product analytics to understand how features are used.
- Error monitoring — a diagnostics provider that records technical details when something goes wrong, so we can fix it.
We may also disclose information if required by law, to enforce our terms, or to protect the rights, safety, and property of our users or the public.
International transfers
Some of our providers are located in the United States and other countries. Where your information is transferred outside your country, we rely on the providers’ appropriate safeguards for such transfers.
Data retention
We keep your account information for as long as your account is active. Because the directory is a shared public resource, contributions may remain (in de-identified form) after you delete your account, so the catalog stays accurate for other travellers.
Your rights
Depending on where you live (including under the EU/UK GDPR), you may have the right to access, correct, delete, export, or object to our use of your personal information, and to withdraw consent at any time. To exercise these rights, or to delete your account, contact us at hello@dailysweat.co. You may also have the right to complain to your local data protection authority.
Cookies
We use strictly necessary cookies to keep you signed in, and analytics cookies and local storage (from Vercel, Google, and PostHog) to measure and improve the service. You can control cookies through your browser settings; blocking necessary cookies may stop you from signing in.
Children
Daily Sweat is not directed to children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. We’ll change the “Last updated” date above and, for material changes, provide a more prominent notice.
