Florence Gym Day Passes: Where to Train, Prices and Tips for Tourists

By Daily Sweat9 min read

Florence is small enough that a gym is rarely far from your room: five gyms within two kilometres of the centre sell a day for €15, and you simply pay at the front desk.

Quick answer

Tourists can buy a gym day pass in Florence: as of October 2026, Daily Sweat lists 13 Florence gyms with one, and the 11 with a known price charge from €15 to €35, with €19 the typical price. All 13 sell it at the front desk, and none sells online. The catch: ask for the all-in price before you pay — in August 2026 one central gym added a registration fee to its day pass, and FitActive Serragli posted a notice saying no day passes at weekends.

Below: eight gyms worth the trip, then which ones are near your hotel, what passes cost, how buying works, and when a weekly pass beats paying by the day. For every listing, see all Florence gyms with a day pass or the map. Travelling on by train? See the Rome guide and the Milan guide.

Eight Florence gyms worth the trip

From €15 at five gyms on both sides of the Arno to €35 at Virgin Active, with a powerlifting gym, a weekly pass and two clubs open 24 hours. Each gym’s card shows the listing’s current price and when it was last checked.

1. Florence Fitness — €15, the most central pick

  1. Florence FitnessVia dei Fossi, Florence15.00 EUR day passShowersFree weightsChecked Sep 2026€15 a day on Via dei Fossi, three floors of Technogym kit, free lockers and showers.

Florence Fitness, at Via dei Fossi 56r, charged two visitors in August 2026 a €15 day pass — “a standard price for day passes as far as gyms go”, an August 2026 visitor wrote. It spreads over three floors: cardio on the ground floor, a small functional area in the basement, and machines, a Pilates room and a free-weights room at the top. The same visitor found free lockers and showers, and the listing records both free weights and showers. Hours are 7:30am–10pm on weekdays, 10am–6pm on Saturday and 10am–1pm on Sunday.

Before you go: come in the morning — a June 2026 reviewer recommends it, and an August 2026 visitor found it warm inside.

2. Palestra Time Out — €15, the most praised day-pass stop

  1. Palestra Time OutVia del Ponte Sospeso, Florence15.00 EUR day passFree weightsChecked Sep 2026€15 a day, confirmed by five reviews from 2025 to May 2026, on a big Technogym floor with full locker rooms; week passes too.

Palestra Time Out, at Via del Ponte Sospeso 6 across the Arno, has charged a €15 day pass in every review that gives a price, from September 2025 to May 2026 — “Day passes are €15. Trained here twice. One of the better gyms I’ve found while travelling”, one wrote in September 2025. A May 2026 visitor found it “easy to get the pass”, with plenty of weights, cardio and full locker rooms. Hours are 6am–10:30pm on weekdays, 6am–6pm on Saturday and 10:30am–1:30pm on Sunday (official site).

Before you go: avoid lunchtime — a November 2025 visitor found it busy then, thinning out afterwards.

3. Urban Gym — €15 and three racks at Porta Romana

  1. Urban Gymn°10/r, Florence15.00 EUR day passShowersChecked Sep 2026€15 drop-in at Porta Romana, with three racks and a deadlift platform — the pick for powerlifters.

Urban Gym, at Piazzale di Porta Romana 10r, sells a €15 drop-in at the front desk: a December 2025 member quoted it, and an August 2026 visitor “Paid 15 euros at the front and that was that.” It is the listing for lifters, with 3 racks and a deadlift platform, plus kettlebells, battle ropes and a small protein bar; the listing records a power rack and showers. Hours are 7:30am–9:30pm on weekdays, 9am–6:30pm on Saturday and 10am–1pm on Sunday.

Before you go: bring clean indoor shoes — the gym requires them, and a December 2025 member reminds visitors to.

4. Elysium Boutique — €15 in a small San Frediano studio

  1. Elysium BoutiqueVia del Leone, Florence15.00 EUR day passChecked Sep 2026€15 for one entry at a small Technogym and Matrix studio on Via del Leone, with English-speaking staff.

Elysium Boutique, at Via del Leone 10r in San Frediano, charged a visitor in March 2026 “One entry is 15 eur (one day pass)”, adding that staff speak English. It is a small studio with Technogym and Matrix machines, and serious lifters may find the weights limited. The official site advertises a free trial, and a July 2026 visitor on a week-long holiday got a free day pass — treat that as a trial, not the going rate. Hours are 7:30am–10pm on weekdays and 8am–8pm on Saturday (official site).

Before you go: it is closed on Sundays, indoor shoes are required, and its hours drift, so check them the day before.

5. FitActive Firenze Serragli — €15, open 24 hours, weekdays only

  1. FitActive Firenze SerragliFitActiveVia Santa Maria, Florence15.00 EUR day passChecked Sep 2026€10–€15 a day in Oltrarno, open 24 hours, with new equipment and air conditioning — but no day passes at weekends.

FitActive Firenze Serragli, at Via Santa Maria 25r in Oltrarno, charged visitors in August 2026 €10 to €15 for a day pass — the latest paid €15, so the price seems to have risen. Reviewers praise the new equipment and the air conditioning, “better than most gyms ive gone to across europe”. It is listed as open 24 hours, every day.

Before you go: go on a weekday. In August 2026 a visitor who walked there at the weekend found “paper on the door saying no day passes on weekends”.

6. Evolution Palestra Firenze — €19 a day or €50 a week

  1. Evolution Palestra FirenzeVia Giambattista Lulli, Florence19.00 EUR day passFree weightsChecked Sep 2026€19 a day or €50 a week near Porta al Prato, with the biggest equipment range on the list and long hours every day.

Evolution Palestra Firenze, at Via Giambattista Lulli 62/A near Porta al Prato, charges tourists €19 a day or €50 a week (reviews from September 2025 and June 2026). It has a huge range of machines and a CrossFit box next door, but reviewers are split: a June 2026 visitor called it outdated and crowded — “At €19 per visit for tourists, it’s expensive for the quality and overall experience offered” — while a September 2025 visitor found the weekly pass good value. Hours are 7am–11pm on weekdays and 9am–8pm at weekends (official site).

Before you go: arrive early; reviewers who went at lunchtime or in the evening queued for machines.

7. Anytime Fitness Firenze Cavour — €20 and 24-hour access

  1. Anytime Fitness Firenze CavourAnytime FitnessVia Camillo Cavour, Florence20.00 EUR day passShowersChecked Sep 2026€20 a day on Via Cavour, open 24 hours with good showers; reviewers call it steep for the size.

Anytime Fitness Firenze Cavour, at Via Camillo Cavour 86, charged a visitor in July 2026 €20 for a day pass — “Day pass is €20 which is not worth it”, they wrote, for a clean but small gym. The kit is new Technogym and the listing records showers, but no free weights; a December 2025 reviewer found the strength machines squeezed into one small room. The club is listed as open 24 hours, but its page says the 24-hour access is for members and the office is closed on Sunday (official club page). See our Anytime Fitness page.

Before you go: buy while the office is staffed, and bring water — a July 2026 visitor found no water dispenser.

8. Virgin Active — €35 for a full club

  1. Virgin Active Firenze San DonatoVirgin ActiveVia di Novoli, Florence35.00 EUR day passChecked Sep 2026€35 at reception, all club services included, on Virgin Active Italy's official per-club price list.

Every Virgin Active Italy club sells a daily paid entry at reception, with all club services included (Virgin Active Italy help centre). The official per-club price list (September 2026) gives both Florence clubs at €35: San Donato, on Via di Novoli north-west of the centre, and Rovezzano, on Via Generale C. A. dalla Chiesa, 4.7 km east. Neither listing has hours or facility details yet; start from our Virgin Active page.

Before you go: ask your hotel about agreements with a nearby club; the price may differ under them.

Where to train, by neighbourhood

Most of Florence’s day-pass gyms sit within two kilometres of the city-page centre, so the walk usually decides it. Distances below are from that centre; the Florence gym map shows every listing by location.

Of the 13 listings, 5 record free weights, 3 a power rack and 5 showers (a blank means unconfirmed, not missing). The power racks are at Urban Gym, Ricciardi and Swan. No Florence listing records a sauna or a pool. Day-tripping? Daily Sweat also lists day-pass gyms in Siena and Lucca.

How much does a gym day pass cost in Florence?

A gym day pass in Florence costs €15 to €35, typically €19, as of October 2026. Of the 13 gyms listed, 11 have a known price, and Florence is unusually tight: five of them charge exactly €15.

  • €15, mostly independents: Florence Fitness, Palestra Time Out, Urban Gym, Elysium Boutique and FitActive Firenze Serragli, where August 2026 visitors paid €10 or €15.
  • €19–€20: Evolution Palestra Firenze (€19, or €50 a week), Anytime Fitness Firenze Cavour (€20, July 2026), and two older prices — Fit Express Firenze (€20 in a September 2023 review) and Wellness Firenze Marathon (€20 in a September 2024 review). Confirm those two at the desk.
  • €35: both Virgin Active clubs, all club services included.

What drives the price is mostly the type of gym: independents near the centre hold at €15, Anytime Fitness charges €20, and Virgin Active’s full clubs €35. Ricciardi’s day pass was €16 in an August 2026 review, but it isn’t a listed price yet, and the same visitor was asked for a registration fee on top.

Prices move: August 2026 visitors to FitActive Serragli paid €10 and €15 within weeks of each other. Each gym’s page shows where its price came from and when it was last checked.

Buying a pass: what to know

Walk in and pay at the desk

All 13 listings sell the pass at reception, and none sells online, so there is nothing to book — Urban Gym’s owner, a 2022 visitor wrote, was happy to give a tour before selling a day pass. No listing is marked cash only, and the Virgin Active clubs take cards. Two things can still stop you at the door: FitActive Serragli posted that it sells no day passes at weekends (August 2026), and at a 24-hour club like Anytime Fitness, plan to buy while the office is staffed.

Ask for the all-in price

In August 2026 a visitor to Ricciardi Fitness Centre was quoted a €16 day pass, then asked for a €30 registration fee, “discounted” to €8, and walked away. Before you hand over a card anywhere, ask what the total is for one visit.

Free trials and medical certificates

No Florence listing is marked with a free trial, but three sites advertise one: Elysium’s (a July 2026 visitor got a free day), Wellness Firenze Marathon’s free trial class, and Anytime Fitness’s “provaci gratis”. Ask whether a visitor qualifies. Longer passes can bring Italian paperwork: a January 2026 member at Fit Express lost 24-hour access over a medical certificate they were never asked for when they paid, while Swan didn’t require a local doctor’s note for a month in September 2025.

What the pass leaves out

Indoor shoes are required at 2 listings — Elysium Boutique and Urban Gym — and a towel at 1, Swan, where a January 2026 visitor advises bringing your own for the mats. Swan also hands you a card to leave at the desk and closes on Italian public holidays, a September 2025 member warns. Pack clean shoes, a towel, a water bottle and a padlock.

One message settles most of it

Hello, I’m visiting Florence and would like to train on [date]. What is your day-pass price, all in, and can I buy it at the weekend? Do I need indoor shoes or a towel?
Avete un ingresso giornaliero? (Do you have a day pass?)

Day pass or weekly pass?

Count your likely workouts before buying a longer pass. On record:

  • Evolution Palestra Firenze: €19 a day or €50 a week, about €7.14 a day over seven days — worth it from your third visit. It is the only Florence listing with a weekly price.
  • Palestra Time Out: sells week passes, which a November 2025 visitor bought and rated highly; the price isn’t recorded yet, so ask at the desk.
  • Swan Gymnastic Center: a two-week pass was €55 in a 2020 review, and a September 2025 member quoted a €90 one-month sign-up. Both prices are old; a January 2026 visitor still found visitor access affordable.
  • Urban Gym: a December 2025 member paid €370 for six months — for a semester, not a holiday.

Ask whether a package means consecutive days or a number of entries, and whether it needs a medical certificate. Our day, weekly and monthly pass guide does the maths.

Chains and 24-hour gyms

Most Florence day passes come from independents; 5 of the 13 listings belong to four chains:

  • Virgin Active, 2 clubs, €35 each on the official September 2026 list, sold at reception with all club services included.
  • Anytime Fitness, 1 club on Via Cavour, €20 in July 2026, open 24 hours.
  • FitActive, 1 club in Oltrarno, €15 in August 2026, open 24 hours but with no day passes at weekends.
  • Fit Express, 1 club on Via Ruggero Bardazzi, open 6am to midnight every day. Its €20 day pass comes from a September 2023 review, and a 2023 reviewer could get no price by phone, so confirm the current rate in person.

For a late or very early session, those are your options: FitActive Serragli and Anytime Fitness Cavour are the only listings open 24 hours, and Evolution stays open until 11pm on weekdays. Most independents close by 10:30pm on weekdays and, Evolution apart, open on Sunday only for a morning, if at all.

Find a Florence gym that fits your trip

Daily Sweat keeps every Florence gym with a confirmed day pass on one page, with the price, how to buy, opening hours and facilities for each. Start with the Florence gym list to filter by facility, or open the map to see what is near your hotel, then confirm visitor hours and ID rules with the gym before you set off.

Search a city and use the map to find convenient options. Where available, listings show day-pass and weekly prices, how to buy access, facilities, opening hours, photos, and visitor notes. You can compare nearby alternatives and use website or map links to plan your visit. Chain pages show every branch of a brand with a confirmed pass, and day pass prices compares typical costs by country and city.

Daily Sweat is free to browse, and you don’t need an account to search. It’s a directory: you buy access through the gym or the booking option described in its listing.

Some details will still need checking, particularly when a price is missing or your visit depends on a specific facility. Traveller contributions and corrections help keep the information useful.

The aim is simple: spend less time figuring out where you can train, and more time enjoying the place you came to visit.
