Sydney gyms call it a casual visit rather than a day pass, and most will sell you one: around A$30 buys a session at an independent in the inner city, and the chains take visitors at the desk.
Tourists can buy a gym day pass in Sydney: as of October 2026, Daily Sweat lists 19 Sydney gyms with one, and the 7 with a known price charge from A$25 to A$79, with A$30 the typical price. 18 sell it at the front desk, and 2 sell online. The catch: the chains don’t publish the price — Anytime Fitness and Snap Fitness set a visitor fee club by club, so ask before you pay.
Below: eight gyms worth the trip, then which ones are near your hotel, what passes cost, how buying works, and when a weekly pass beats paying by the day. For every listing, see all Sydney gyms with a day pass or the map. Flying on to Asia? See the Bali guide.

Where to train, by neighbourhood
Sydney’s listings cluster in the CBD and the inner east, so most hotels are a short walk from at least one. Compare the journey from your door to reception before choosing on price. The Sydney gym map shows every listing by location.

- Hyde Park east: Cook+Phillip Park on College Street.

How much does a gym day pass cost in Sydney?
A gym day pass in Sydney costs A$25 to A$79, typically A$30. Of the 19 gyms listed, 7 have a known price, and all but one charge A$35 or less.

Buying a pass: what to know
Walk in and pay at the desk
18 of the 19 listed gyms sell the pass at reception, and 2 sell online: ActivateFit takes either, and Prime Strength sells online only. Many Sydney gyms are open 24 hours but staffed for only part of the day, so turn up while someone is at the desk.
The chains price visitors club by club
Anytime Fitness’s own enquiry page says most clubs charge non-residents a drop-in fee for short-term use, with the amount set by the branch; none of its 9 Sydney listings publishes one. Snap Fitness works the same way: the Sydney City desk sold a 2026 visitor a day pass, but the amount wasn’t captured. Ask the club you plan to use, not the head office.
What the pass leaves out
City Gym asks you to bring a towel, Cook+Phillip Park charges A$9.10 extra for the pool, and SOHO’s A$79 is the only price on record that includes recovery facilities. Pack workout clothes, shoes, a towel, a water bottle and a padlock.
One message settles most of it
Hi, I’m visiting Sydney and would like to train on [date]. What is your casual visit or day-pass price for non-members, when is the desk staffed, and do I need to bring ID or a towel?
Day pass or weekly pass?
No Sydney listing has a weekly price on record yet, but three sell longer passes:
- KGV Recreation Centre: 7-day and fortnightly passes at reception, alongside the casual visit.
- Snap Fitness Sydney City: a week pass, sold at the desk.
- Anytime Fitness Potts Point: a holidaymaker had a two-week pass in March 2026 and called it a great experience.
At A$25–A$30 a visit, four sessions cost A$100–A$120, so ask what a week costs and compare. Our day, weekly and monthly pass guide does the maths.
Chains and pools
12 of the 19 Sydney listings belong to a chain:
- Anytime Fitness, with 9 listings across the CBD, Surry Hills, Haymarket, Chippendale, Pyrmont, Potts Point and North Sydney: a drop-in fee for non-residents, set by each club, and every one is open 24 hours.
- Snap Fitness, with 2 listings: Sydney City, open 24 hours, sells day and week passes at the desk, and Pyrmont is open 6am–midnight.
- Plus Fitness, with 1 listing: Darlinghurst, at A$25.
For a swim, Daily Sweat records a pool at 1 Sydney listing: Cook+Phillip Park, where the A$25.50 gym entry and the A$9.10 pool entry are sold separately. City Gym and SOHO have a sauna, and SOHO adds a cold plunge.

Find a Sydney gym that fits your trip
Daily Sweat keeps every Sydney gym with a confirmed day pass on one page, with the price, how to buy, opening hours and facilities for each. Start with the Sydney gym list to filter by facility, or open the map to see what is near your hotel, then confirm visitor hours and ID rules with the gym before you set off.
Search a city and use the map to find convenient options. Where available, listings show day-pass and weekly prices, how to buy access, facilities, opening hours, photos, and visitor notes. You can compare nearby alternatives and use website or map links to plan your visit. Chain pages show every branch of a brand with a confirmed pass, and day pass prices compares typical costs by country and city.
Daily Sweat is free to browse, and you don’t need an account to search. It’s a directory: you buy access through the gym or the booking option described in its listing.
Some details will still need checking, particularly when a price is missing or your visit depends on a specific facility. Traveller contributions and corrections help keep the information useful.
The aim is simple: spend less time figuring out where you can train, and more time enjoying the place you came to visit.
