Porto Gym Day Passes: Where to Train, Prices and Tips for Tourists

By Daily Sweat10 min read

Porto is a cheap city to keep training in: four independent gyms sell a day for €10, the most central chain club charges €11.90, and four more gyms sit across the river in Vila Nova de Gaia.

Quick answer

Tourists can buy a gym day pass in Porto: as of October 2026, Daily Sweat lists 19 Porto gyms with one, and the 11 with a known price charge from €7 to €40, with €11.90 the typical price. All 19 sell it at the front desk, and 1 sells online. The catch: VivaGym Trindade, the most central chain club, requires a towel, clean shoes and a padlock, and a June 2026 visitor had to give passport details to get in, so pack all four.

Below: eight gyms worth the trip, then which ones are near your hotel, what passes cost, how buying works, and when a weekly pass beats paying by the day. The Porto list covers gyms within 15 km of the centre, so it takes in Matosinhos to the north-west and Vila Nova de Gaia on the south bank of the Douro; each pick says which town it is in. For every listing, see all Porto gyms with a day pass or the map. Heading south to the capital? See the Lisbon guide.

Eight Porto gyms worth the trip

From €7 at an independent in Matosinhos to €20 for a club with a pool by the Dragão stadium, with four gyms at €10 on both banks of the river and the chain club in the centre that sells a week. Each gym’s card shows the listing’s current price and when it was last checked.

1. Seven Fitness Club — €7 in Matosinhos

  1. Seven Fitness ClubAv. Serpa Pinto 135, Porto7.00 EUR day passChecked Jun 2025€7 for a day at a well-equipped independent on Avenida Serpa Pinto in Matosinhos, paid at the desk; the price is from June 2025.

Seven Fitness Club, at Avenida Serpa Pinto 135 in Matosinhos, about 7 km from central Porto, charged a visitor in June 2025 €7 for a day pass at the desk, and the receptionist went out of his way to change a €50 note. It is a no-frills gym with lots of weights, and a December 2025 reviewer summed it up as “Very nice, tourist friendly!”. Hours are 7am–10:30pm on weekdays, 3pm–8pm on Saturday and 10am–1pm on Sunday (official site).

Before you go: the €7 is from a 2025 review, so check at the desk, and bring small notes rather than a €50.

2. BeeGym Porto — €10 on the price list, “perfect for travelers”

  1. BeeGym PortoR. de Antero de Quental 898, Porto10.00 EUR day passShowersChecked Sep 2026€10 day pass on the gym's own price list, confirmed by a June 2026 visitor, at a new air-conditioned gym near Marquês with showers and power racks.

BeeGym Porto, at Rua de Antero de Quental 898 near Marquês, publishes a €10 day pass on its own price list, billed as “perfect for travelers”, and a couple on holiday paid that in June 2026: “10€ for a day pass. Impressive small business.” It is a new, air-conditioned local gym, and the listing records showers and power racks; a July 2026 visitor who trained twice on a short stay called it “incredibly well equipped”. Hours are 6:30am–11pm on weekdays, 9am–5pm on Saturday and 9am–3pm on Sunday (price list).

Before you go: staying the week? The same price list has one week of access for €25.

3. Fox Gym — €10 for three floors of Hammer Strength

  1. Fox GymTv. Santo Isidro 122, Porto10.00 EUR day passFree weightsChecked Sep 2026€10 a day in April 2026 at a three-floor iron gym on Travessa de Santo Isidro, with plate-loaded machines and dumbbells up to 60 kg.

Fox Gym, at Travessa de Santo Isidro 122, slightly uphill from the centre, charged visitors in September and October 2025 and April 2026 €10 for a day. It is spread over three floors of mostly plate-loaded Hammer Strength machines, with dumbbells up to 60 kg, and it’s the pick for powerlifters. Visitors found the desk “incredibly friendly”: “just €10 entry, no hassle, even lending me a locker and padlock”, one wrote in October 2025, and an April 2026 visitor noted free showers, cold water refills and staff who speak English. Hours are 6:30am–10pm on weekdays, 9am–6pm on Saturday and 9am–1pm on Sunday (official site).

Before you go: a September 2025 visitor found it a little far from the centre and took a €5 Uber.

4. AmazinGym Prelada — €10 with a huge outdoor space

  1. AmazinGym PreladaR. Teodoro Sousa Maldonado 151, Porto10.00 EUR day passChecked Sep 2026€10 for a one-time drop-in in March 2026 at a spacious independent in Prelada, full of natural light and with a big outdoor area.

AmazinGym Prelada, at Rua Teodoro Sousa Maldonado 151, charged a visitor in March 2026 €10 for a one-time drop-in — the same single-entry price reviewers paid in 2022 and 2023. That visitor found it spacious, with “lots of natural light” and a “huge outdoor space”, though dumbbells stop at 40 kg, a 2022 reviewer noted. Hours are 6:30am–10pm on weekdays, 9am–8pm on Saturday and 9am–1pm on Sunday.

Before you go: don’t count on a free first day — a January 2025 visitor promised one by email still had to pay.

5. Grifo Gym — €10 iron across the river in Gaia

  1. Grifo GymR. Visc. das Devesas 794, Porto10.00 EUR day passFree weightsChecked Sep 2026€10 a day in three agreeing reviews at a classic iron gym in Vila Nova de Gaia, on the south bank, with free lockers.

Grifo Gym, at Rua Visconde das Devesas 794 in Vila Nova de Gaia, on the south bank of the Douro, sold visitors in July 2023, June 2024 and July 2025 a €10 day pass. It is a classic iron studio with lots of free weights and machines — “Best gym I’ve been to in Portugal”, the July 2025 visitor wrote. Lockers are free, so you don’t need a padlock, but a 2023 visitor found nowhere good to fill a water bottle. Hours are 7am–10pm on weekdays and 10am–7pm on Saturday (official site).

Before you go: bring a towel (a 2023 visitor rented one for €1), and note it is closed on Sundays.

6. VivaGym Trindade — €11.90 a day, about €18 a week

  1. Ginásio VivaGym TrindadeVivaGymCentro Comercial, Porto11.90 EUR day passShowersFree weightsChecked Sep 2026€11.90 a day or €18.90 a week in June 2026, in a shopping centre by Trindade metro, open 6am–11pm on weekdays and until 9pm at weekends.

VivaGym Trindade, in the shopping centre on Rua da Trindade next to Trindade metro, charged visitors in June and July 2026 €11.90 for a day pass; the June visitor was also quoted €18.90 for a week, “a really cheap weekly pass” (the listing records €18). Cards are accepted, and the listing records showers. It is clean but not big: reviewers in January and June 2026 found only one of most machines, a busy floor and dumbbells that stop at 37.5 kg. Hours are 6am–11pm on weekdays and 8am–9pm at weekends (club page). VivaGym also has clubs at Antas and Vila Nova de Gaia; their prices aren’t recorded yet. See the VivaGym chain page.

Before you go: bring a towel, clean gym shoes, a padlock, water and your passport. A June 2026 visitor called it a “long process to enter gym for a visitor”, and the gym floor has no water fountain, so fill your bottle downstairs.

7. Kandal Gym — €15 near the Gaia riverside

  1. Kandal GymR. Valente Perfeito 237, Porto15.00 EUR day passSaunaChecked Sep 2026€15 a day in August 2026, lock and key included, at a complete, uncrowded gym in Vila Nova de Gaia near the riverside, with a sauna.

Kandal Gym, at Rua Valente Perfeito 237 in Vila Nova de Gaia, on the south bank near the riverside, charged a visitor in August 2026 €15 for a day pass, including a lock and key for the changing room — “Better than a hotel gym”. It has the basics, from a bench press to a squat rack, and the listing records a sauna. An April 2025 visitor found it expensive but “par for gyms I’ve used across Portugal”, and not too busy. Hours are 7am–9pm on weekdays and 8:30am–2pm on Saturday.

Before you go: it is closed on Sundays and shuts at 2pm on Saturdays; Grifo Gym, also in Gaia, is €10.

8. Solinca Classic Dragão — €20 with a pool and sauna

  1. Ginásio Solinca Classic DragãoSolincaEstádio do Dragão, Porto20.00 EUR day passShowersSaunaPoolChecked Sep 2026€20 for a single session in February 2026 at the Estádio do Dragão club, one of two Porto listings with a pool, open until 11pm on weekdays.

Solinca Classic Dragão, at the Estádio do Dragão, charged a visitor in February 2026 €20 for a single session, which they found “actually insane”, with machines close together and a packed floor. What the price buys is the rest of the club: the listing records a pool, a sauna and showers, though a February 2026 reviewer complained about mould in the showers. Hours are 6am–11pm on weekdays, 8am–8pm on Saturday and 9am–6pm on Sunday (official site). See the Solinca chain page.

Before you go: if you only want weights, the €10 independents are better value; come here for the pool.

Where to train, by neighbourhood

Porto’s gyms are spread across both banks of the Douro, so compare the journey from your door before choosing on price. The Porto gym map shows every listing by location.

  • The centre — Trindade and Bolhão: VivaGym Trindade (€11.90), Fitness UP Bolhão on Rua de Fernandes Tomás by the Bolhão market (price at the desk), and Fox Gym (€10), a short climb east.
  • Marquês and Constituição: BeeGym Porto (€10), Solinca Classic Constituição on Rua da Constituição and CT UNBROKEN, a bodybuilding gym on Rua de Costa Cabral that sold a day pass in May 2024.
  • Boavista and Praça da Galiza: Fitness Hut in the Cidade do Porto shopping centre (€11.90), Fitness UP Praça Galiza, Holmes Place Boavista at the Bessa stadium (€40) and AmazinGym Prelada (€10).
  • Antas and Dragão: Solinca Classic Dragão (€20), VivaGym Antas in Alameda Shopping and Fonseca Gym on Rua Nova de São Crispim, where a September 2024 visitor trained at “a reasonable price”.
  • Towards Matosinhos: Breathe Sport Fitness on the Estrada da Circunvalação (€20) and Seven Fitness Club in Matosinhos (€7).
  • Vila Nova de Gaia, on the south bank: Grifo Gym (€10), Kandal Gym (€15), VivaGym Vila Nova de Gaia on Rua Dom Henrique de Cernache and GYMSTAR Gaia on Avenida dos Escultores (a day pass in September 2026, price not recorded).

No Porto listing is open 24 hours. For a late session, VivaGym’s three clubs, Fitness Hut, Solinca Dragão, BeeGym, Fitness UP Praça Galiza and GYMSTAR Gaia stay open until 11pm on weekdays. Sundays are thinner: Grifo, Kandal, CT UNBROKEN and Fonseca are closed and seven others close by 3pm, but VivaGym Trindade and Antas stay open until 9pm, Breathe until 8pm, and Fitness Hut, both Solinca clubs and Holmes Place until 6pm. VivaGym Vila Nova de Gaia opens only from 4:30pm to 8:30pm at weekends.

How much does a gym day pass cost in Porto?

A gym day pass in Porto costs €7 to €40, typically €11.90, as of October 2026. Of the 19 gyms listed, 11 have a known price, and 6 of those charge €10 to €11.90.

  • €7: Seven Fitness Club in Matosinhos, on a June 2025 review.
  • €10–€11.90, the typical range: AmazinGym Prelada, BeeGym Porto, Fox Gym and Grifo Gym (€10), and VivaGym Trindade and Fitness Hut Cidade do Porto (€11.90).
  • €15–€20: Kandal Gym in Gaia (€15), and Breathe Sport Fitness and Solinca Classic Dragão (€20).
  • €40: Holmes Place Boavista, with towel service, a pool, a jacuzzi and saunas.

Price follows the extras, not the iron: the €10 gyms are independents, the chains charge €11.90 for a shopping-centre club open until 11pm, and €20 or more buys a pool, a sauna or a towel service. Eight listings sell day passes without a recorded price; ask at the desk.

Prices move: Holmes Place Boavista was €35 in 2023 and €40 in April 2025, and VivaGym Trindade’s week was €18.90 at the desk in June 2026 against the €18 on its listing. Each gym’s page shows where its price came from and when it was last checked.

Buying a pass: what to know

Walk in and pay at the desk

All 19 listed gyms sell the pass at reception, and 1 also sells online: Fitness Hut Cidade do Porto, where a January 2026 visitor paid just over £9 through the TrainAway app before an early-morning session. VivaGym Trindade takes cards. At the smaller independents, carry cash in small notes as a fallback: Seven Fitness Club doesn’t keep much change.

Bring ID, and read the house rules

VivaGym registration asks for a passport number, and a June 2026 visitor at Trindade had to enter “a lot of personal details including passport”. Breathe Sport Fitness is the strictest: in June 2026 it let no guests in before 1pm at weekends, queried a US driving licence as ID, and banned a visitor’s hat, hoodie and gym bag on the floor. A January 2026 visitor there advises asking for the wellness card if you want the full facilities.

Towels, shoes, padlocks and water

A towel is required at 3 Porto listings — Grifo Gym, VivaGym Trindade and VivaGym Antas — and clean indoor shoes at VivaGym Trindade; a November 2025 visitor was turned away from Antas for the wrong shoes. Bring a padlock to the chain clubs (Fitness Hut, VivaGym Trindade, and Holmes Place in 2023); Grifo’s lockers are free, Kandal includes a lock and key, and Fox Gym lent one. Water is the other surprise: Fitness Hut has no free water, only a vending machine, and a 2025 visitor at VivaGym Antas had to pay for it, while Fox Gym offers free water.

Free trials are not day passes

No Porto listing records a free trial. A February 2026 visitor used a free trial day at Fitness UP Praça Galiza, and Solinca and VivaGym advertise a free day through sign-up forms on their websites, but don’t count on one at the desk. Plan to pay.

One message settles most of it

Olá! I’m visiting Porto and would like to train on [date]. What is your current day-pass price, can I pay at reception by card, and do I need my own towel, indoor shoes or padlock?

Day pass or weekly pass?

Count your likely workouts before buying a longer pass. Some on record:

  • VivaGym Trindade: €11.90 a day or €18.90 for a week (June 2026; listed at €18) — worth it from your second visit. It is the only Porto listing with a weekly price.
  • BeeGym Porto: €10 a day, and its own price list shows one week of access for €25, “perfect for short-term stays” — worth it from your third visit. Confirm it at the desk, as the listing doesn’t record it yet.
  • AmazinGym Prelada: reviewers in 2022 and 2023 quoted €20 for a weekly or five-day pass. That is old, so ask.

Ask whether a package means consecutive calendar days or a fixed number of entries, and when it expires. Our day, weekly and monthly pass guide does the maths.

Chains and pools

Porto’s day-pass listings split almost evenly: 10 independents and 9 chain clubs. The chains selling visitors a day:

  • VivaGym, with 3 listings — Trindade (€11.90 a day, €18.90 a week), Antas and Vila Nova de Gaia — plus the Cidade do Porto club still listed under the Fitness Hut name, whose page is on VivaGym’s site (€11.90).
  • Fitness UP, with 2 listings: Bolhão, where a July 2026 reviewer said day passes are “perfect for turist too”, and Praça Galiza. Neither price is recorded. Fitness UP has nine more Porto clubs on the map with no pass on record, so ask at the desk there.
  • Solinca, with 2 listings: €20 at Dragão in February 2026, and Constituição, where the price wasn’t captured.
  • Holmes Place, with 1 listing: Boavista, at the Bessa stadium.

For a swim, Daily Sweat records a pool at 2 Porto listings. Solinca Classic Dragão charged €20 in February 2026 and also has a sauna. Holmes Place Boavista charged €40 for a day in April 2025, against €35 in 2023, with towel service, a pool, a jacuzzi and dry and steam saunas, though the April 2025 visitor found the changing rooms dated. That price is old, so confirm it first. Hours are 6:30am–10pm on weekdays, 8am–7pm on Saturday and 9am–6pm on Sunday (club page). Kandal Gym in Gaia has a sauna too, at €15. Gaia Sport Center, on the map with a pool and sauna, has no confirmed day pass — ask at the desk.

Find a Porto gym that fits your trip

Daily Sweat keeps every Porto gym with a confirmed day pass on one page, with the price, how to buy, opening hours and facilities for each. Start with the Porto gym list to filter by facility, or open the map to see what is near your hotel, then confirm visitor hours and ID rules with the gym before you set off.

Search a city and use the map to find convenient options. Where available, listings show day-pass and weekly prices, how to buy access, facilities, opening hours, photos, and visitor notes. You can compare nearby alternatives and use website or map links to plan your visit. Chain pages show every branch of a brand with a confirmed pass, and day pass prices compares typical costs by country and city.

Daily Sweat is free to browse, and you don’t need an account to search. It’s a directory: you buy access through the gym or the booking option described in its listing.

Some details will still need checking, particularly when a price is missing or your visit depends on a specific facility. Traveller contributions and corrections help keep the information useful.

The aim is simple: spend less time figuring out where you can train, and more time enjoying the place you came to visit.
