Medellín is a cheap city to keep training in: every gym on record sells its day at the front desk, a neighbourhood gym in Belén has charged COP 6,000, and most independents in El Poblado and Laureles ask COP 20,000 to COP 30,000.
Tourists can buy a gym day pass in Medellín: as of October 2026, Daily Sweat lists 24 Medellín gyms with one, and the 12 with a known price charge from COP 6,000 to COP 50,000, with COP 30,000 the typical price. All 24 sell it at the front desk, and none online. The catch: Bodytech, with 6 of the 24 listings, sells visitors a week, not a day, and both ends of the price range come from reviews more than a year old, so confirm the price before you get changed.
Below: eight gyms worth the trip, then which ones are near your apartment, what passes cost, how buying works, and when a weekly pass beats paying by the day. For every listing, see all Medellín gyms with a day pass or the map. Heading on to Peru? See the Lima guide.
Eight Medellín gyms worth the trip
From COP 6,000 at a neighbourhood gym in Belén to COP 49,000 at Smart Fit by Parque Lleras, with three independents at COP 20,000, the only weekly price on record, a CrossFit-style open gym and a Laureles gym that sells by the week. Each gym’s card shows the listing’s current price and when it was last checked.
1. Red Gym Fitness Center — COP 6,000 in Belén
Red Gym Fitness Center, at Calle 31 #75-55 in Belén, charged a visitor in January 2025 COP 6,000 for a day pass — “Low cost to visit as a foreigner”, they wrote — and August and November 2024 reviews quote the same per visit. An April 2026 reviewer found the staff and members “warm and friendly”, with basic equipment; a 2024 visitor noted fans rather than air-conditioning. Hours are 5am–10pm on weekdays, 8am–4pm on Saturday and 8am–2pm on Sunday.
2. Bulltrain Entrenamiento — COP 20,000 in Laureles
Bulltrain Entrenamiento, at Carrera 79 #37-55 in Laureles, charged visitors in September 2024 and September 2025 COP 20,000 for a day pass. One floor is for lower body, the other for upper body and cardio, and “It’s an easy gym to walk into, pay the fee, and get your workout in without any hassle”, the 2025 visitor wrote. Hours are 5am–9pm Monday to Thursday, 5am–8pm on Friday, 8am–1pm on Saturday and 9am–noon on Sunday.
3. Ser+fit Fitness Center — COP 20,000 on Calle 24 in El Poblado
Ser+fit Fitness Center, at Calle 24 #44-44 in El Poblado, charged visitors in January and March 2026 COP 20,000 for a day pass. Reviewers describe brand-new weights and machines, a clean floor, supplements for sale and a small restaurant, and the January 2026 visitor was struck by how keenly the owner showed them round. Hours are 5am–9pm on weekdays, 7am–5pm on Saturday and 9am–5pm on Sunday.
4. Gym Vivo-EAFIT — COP 20,000 at a university gym
Gym Vivo-EAFIT, the EAFIT university gym on Carrera 48, is open to the public and charged a visitor in March 2026 COP 20,000 for a day pass, up from COP 17,900 in March 2025. An August 2026 reviewer called it “Excellent gym. Loads of equipment and not busy.” Hours are 6am–9pm Monday to Thursday, 6am–8pm on Friday and 8am–2pm on Saturday (gym page).
5. Elite House Gym — COP 30,000 a day or COP 100,000 a week
Elite House Gym, at Carrera 66B #4-31 in Laureles, charged a visitor in February 2025 COP 30,000 a day or COP 100,000 a week, with monthly rates too, which they found “convenient if you are traveling”. It isn’t big, but the equipment is good, they wrote. The listing has hours of 5am–9pm Monday to Thursday, 5am–8pm on Friday, 8am–2pm on Saturday and 9am–1pm on Sunday, while the gym’s own site shows later weekday closing (official site).
6. Eco Functional Club — COP 39,000 for an open-gym session
Eco Functional Club, at Carrera 43F #14a-126 in El Poblado, is a CrossFit-style club with a separate open-gym floor of machines, dumbbells, kettlebells, barbells and rigs. A visitor around May 2026 paid COP 39,000 for a session, a class or open gym. Showers are recorded, and a reviewer around July 2026 found “English-speaking staff are available for foreigners”. Weekday hours are 1pm–8pm; Saturday is 7am–noon and Sunday 9am–11am.
7. The Smartfit 10 — COP 49,000 by Parque Lleras
The Smartfit 10, at Calle 10 #43E-60 in El Poblado, is steps from Parque Lleras. A November 2025 visitor paid about US$10 for a day pass, checking in at a Spanish-language kiosk with help from staff, and the listing is set to COP 49,000, Smart Fit Colombia’s single-entry rate — “49k for a day pass”, a December 2025 visitor wrote of the El Tesoro club. Showers and a sauna are recorded. Hours are 5am–10pm Monday to Thursday, 5am–9pm on Friday, 7am–5pm on Saturday and 8am–5pm on Sunday (club page). See the Smart Fit chain page.
8. Magnum Gym — a weekly option in Laureles
Magnum Gym, in Laureles–Estadio, sells visitors a weekly pass: “Not many gyms offer weekly memberships in Medellin, but this one did and at a pretty fair price”, a May 2026 reviewer wrote. A January 2026 reviewer put it at about US$10 a week, their own conversion rather than a peso price from the gym, so the listing shows no price. Free weights and a power rack are recorded, and a February 2026 visitor found the owner welcoming. Hours are 5am–9pm on weekdays, 7am–2pm on Saturday and 10:30am–2:30pm on Sunday.
Where to train, by neighbourhood
More than half of Medellín’s day-pass gyms are in El Poblado, and most of the rest are in Laureles. The Medellín gym map shows every listing by location.
- El Poblado, around Calle 10 and Parque Lleras: The Smartfit 10, Eco Functional Club, Ser+fit, Ultra GYM on Calle 9A, Bodytech Vizcaya, Athletic Gym on Carrera 43F and Animal X Poblado on the 4th floor of the Monterrey mall (COP 25,000 in January 2025).
- Southern El Poblado and the malls: Crew Wellness Club, Smart Fit Golden Mile, Animal X Oviedo in the Oviedo mall, Gym Vivo-EAFIT, Smartfit El Tesoro and Bodytech Mall del Este.
- Laureles–Estadio: Bulltrain, Elite House Gym, Magnum Gym, CETAR Training, Gimnasio El Castillo La Floresta (COP 13,000 in April 2025) and Bodytech Avenida Colombia.
- Belén: Red Gym Fitness Center and Bodytech Laureles on Avenida 33.
- Centro (La Candelaria): Bodytech Premium Plaza, Bodytech Camino Real on Avenida Oriental and Gymmar Boston Gym, which sold punch cards rather than single days in 2022.
No day-pass listing is in Envigado yet. Daily Sweat records showers at 3 of the 24 Medellín listings (a blank means unconfirmed, not missing), and none is open 24 hours; for the earliest and latest sessions, Bodytech Mall del Este opens at 4am and closes at midnight Monday to Thursday, though Bodytech sells visitors a week rather than a day.
How much does a gym day pass cost in Medellín?
A gym day pass in Medellín costs COP 6,000 to COP 50,000, typically COP 30,000, as of October 2026. Of the 24 gyms listed, 12 have a known price, and half of those charge between COP 20,000 and COP 30,000.
- COP 6,000–COP 13,000: Red Gym Fitness Center (COP 6,000, January 2025) and Gimnasio El Castillo La Floresta (COP 13,000, April 2025).
- COP 20,000–COP 25,000: Bulltrain, Ser+fit and Gym Vivo-EAFIT (COP 20,000), and Animal X Poblado (COP 25,000 in January 2025, up from COP 20,000 in 2024).
- COP 30,000–COP 39,000, the typical range: Elite House Gym and Crew Wellness Club (COP 30,000, the latter from 2022 reviews), and Eco Functional Club (COP 39,000).
- COP 49,000–COP 50,000: Smartfit El Tesoro and The Smartfit 10 (COP 49,000) and Ultra GYM (COP 50,000, from an August 2023 review).
Independents are the value: 14 of the 24 listings, including everything under COP 30,000. Smart Fit’s two priced clubs sit near the top: its single entry costs more than twice Bulltrain’s or Ser+fit’s day. A December 2025 visitor called it a price that “outweighs any positives of the gym”.
Prices move: Gym Vivo-EAFIT went from COP 17,900 to COP 20,000 in a year, and Animal X Poblado from COP 20,000 to COP 25,000. The cheapest and dearest prices here, Red Gym’s and Ultra GYM’s, are the oldest. Each gym’s page shows where its price came from and when it was last checked.
Buying a pass: what to know
Walk in and pay at the desk
All 24 listed gyms sell the pass at reception, and none sells it online. At Bulltrain you walk in and pay; Smart Fit checks you in at a Spanish-language kiosk, with staff to help. Eco Functional Club is the one to message on WhatsApp first, to check there is space on the open-gym floor.
Bring your passport and some cash
An August 2026 visitor to Gym Vivo-EAFIT advises bringing a passport for the security checks at the university gate and the gym, and a 2022 visitor to Animal X Poblado needed a photo of theirs. Elite House Gym takes personal details at sign-up. None of the 24 is recorded as cash-only, but Ser+fit wanted cash at the door in October 2025 and Ultra GYM charged an extra fee for card payment in July 2026, so carry pesos.
Day pass, not membership
The trap in Medellín is the plan you didn’t want. At The Smartfit 10, a March 2026 visitor who asked for a temporary option says staff tried to sign them up for a plan, and an August 2026 member who said they were staying a month still faced a charge for the next one. Bodytech, Athletic Gym and Gymmar Boston have sold visitors weeks, 3-day passes and punch cards rather than single days, so ask what the shortest option is.
Free first visits
No listing records a free trial as of October 2026. Crew Wellness Club gave a free first day pass in 2022 and Gimnasio El Castillo La Floresta a complimentary guest pass in January 2025, but don’t count on either.
One message settles most of it
Hello, I’m visiting Medellín and would like to train on [date]. What is your current day-pass price, can I pay by card or only in cash, and do I need my passport?
Day pass or weekly pass?
Count your likely workouts before buying a longer pass. Some on record:
- Elite House Gym: COP 30,000 a day or COP 100,000 a week (February 2025) — worth it from your fourth visit. It is the only Medellín listing with a weekly price.
- Magnum Gym: a weekly pass at “a pretty fair price” (May 2026); ask the peso rate at the desk.
- Gimnasio El Castillo La Floresta: COP 13,000 a day or COP 45,000 for two weeks (April 2025), which pays off from your fourth visit.
- Athletic Gym: no single day, but a 3-day pass for COP 65,000, usable on any three days within a week (December 2024).
- Bodytech: a week pass only, quoted at US$67 at Bodytech Laureles in August 2026 and US$40 at Mall del Este in 2023.
Ask whether a package means consecutive calendar days or a fixed number of entries, and when it expires. Our day, weekly and monthly pass guide does the maths.
Chains and saunas
Ten of the 24 Medellín listings belong to a chain, and the three chains work very differently:
- Bodytech, with 6 listings, from Bodytech Vizcaya and Mall del Este in El Poblado to Premium Plaza and Camino Real in Centro: no day pass, but a week for visitors (US$67 at Laureles in August 2026). A 2023 reviewer at Mall del Este wasn’t allowed to tour or try the gym before paying.
- Smart Fit, with 3 listings that sell a day: The Smartfit 10 and El Tesoro at COP 49,000, and Golden Mile, which offered a daily rate on 24 July 2026 with no amount given. Daily Sweat has 12 more Medellín Smart Fit clubs with no pass on record, and a May 2026 visitor was told the El Campestre club doesn’t sell day passes, so ask at the desk branch by branch.
- Animal X, with Animal X Oviedo, where a February 2025 visitor paid for a day pass, quoted as “25 COP”; the listing records no price. Both Animal X clubs centre on HIIT-style group classes, and a July 2025 reviewer warned travellers who just want the gym floor to go elsewhere.
No Medellín listing records a pool. For heat, Daily Sweat records a sauna at 3 listings: The Smartfit 10, Bodytech Vizcaya, where a 2024 reviewer found the steam room and sauna run mostly at night and not hot enough, and Ultra GYM, where an April 2026 reviewer said to ask staff to turn on the steam room and hot tub when you arrive. Ultra GYM’s COP 50,000 is from 2023, so confirm it first.
Frequently asked questions
Can tourists use gyms in Medellín without a membership?
Yes. As of October 2026, 24 Medellín gyms on Daily Sweat sell a day pass, and all 24 sell it at the front desk; none sells online. Bodytech's 6 clubs are the exception in practice: they sell visitors a week pass rather than a single day.
How much is a gym day pass in Medellín?

Can I buy a weekly gym pass in Medellín?
Yes. Elite House Gym in Laureles charged COP 100,000 a week against COP 30,000 a day in February 2025, so it pays off from your fourth visit; it is the only Medellín listing with a weekly price. Magnum Gym in Laureles also sells a weekly pass (May 2026), and Bodytech sells visitors a week, quoted at US$67 at Bodytech Laureles in August 2026.
Does Smart Fit sell day passes in Medellín?
At some clubs. The Smartfit 10 near Parque Lleras and Smartfit El Tesoro are listed at COP 49,000, a price a December 2025 visitor paid at El Tesoro, and Smart Fit Golden Mile offered a daily rate in July 2026. A May 2026 visitor was told the El Campestre club doesn't sell day passes, so ask at each branch.
Find a Medellín gym that fits your trip
Daily Sweat keeps every Medellín gym with a confirmed day pass on one page, with the price, how to buy, opening hours and facilities for each. Start with the Medellín gym list to filter by facility, or open the map to see what is near your hotel, then confirm visitor hours and ID rules with the gym before you set off.
Search a city and use the map to find convenient options. Where available, listings show day-pass and weekly prices, how to buy access, facilities, opening hours, photos, and visitor notes. You can compare nearby alternatives and use website or map links to plan your visit. Chain pages show every branch of a brand with a confirmed pass, and day pass prices compares typical costs by country and city.
Daily Sweat is free to browse, and you don’t need an account to search. It’s a directory: you buy access through the gym or the booking option described in its listing.
Some details will still need checking, particularly when a price is missing or your visit depends on a specific facility. Traveller contributions and corrections help keep the information useful.
The aim is simple: spend less time figuring out where you can train, and more time enjoying the place you came to visit.
