Fitness First Day Passes & FitPass: A Traveller's Guide Before You Buy

By Daily Sweat8 min read

You’ve found a Fitness First near your hotel. The location works, and you’d like a workout without signing up for a monthly membership. Can you just buy a day pass?

Quick answer

Usually yes, but it isn’t one worldwide system. In the UK and Germany you buy a dated day or weekly ticket. Across Southeast Asia you buy prepaid FitPass credits, often five at a time. In Australia and the UAE you need to ask the club. What a pass includes changes by country.

Information checked on 18 September 2026. Prices use the currency charged locally; SGD means Singapore dollars. Our Fitness First chain page lists branches with a confirmed pass.

Day pass, FitPass or free trial?

Four different things get called a “pass”. Know which one you’re looking at:

OptionWhat it isCheck before buying
Paid day passEntry to one club on one dateClub, expiry time, re-entry
FitPassPrepaid credits, sold in several Asian marketsMinimum purchase, what a credit buys, expiry
Free trialA promotion for prospective local membersResidency and first-visit conditions
International accessA benefit attached to some membershipsActivation, countries, club tiers
The only question that matters: what will this specific purchase let me do at the club I want to visit?

  • Buy online: choose the club and the visit date, then pay.
  • The pass covers that club only and runs until midnight on the chosen date.
  • It can’t be moved to another date, and you may be asked for ID.

For travellers: a workout after dinner and another the next morning span two dates. Plan your sessions before picking the date.

Tickets are sold directly at the club. Check your branch’s category first.

For travellers: training three times? Three day tickets at a RED club cost €57, so the €49 weekly ticket already wins. Confirm which clubs and dates it covers.

Malaysia

FitPass creditsFrom MYR 400 (5 credits)
  • Packages of 5, 10, 20 and 40 credits. Five credits cost MYR 80 each, valid for 45 days.
  • One credit covers a whole club visit, including several classes in that visit.
  • Classes are booked in the Fitness First app.

For travellers: good for a longer session that combines weights and a class. Check the timetable before planning around one.

  • Five credits: THB 2,942.50, valid for 45 days.
  • Both prices include VAT. Confirm the package and eligible branch when paying.

For travellers: seven-day validity is the window to redeem the credit. It does not mean seven days of unlimited workouts.

FitPass creditsConfirm locally
  • Gym credits and class credits are different. Buy the type you need, or both.
  • Leaving and coming back uses another gym credit.
  • Cancel a class at least six hours ahead or lose the session.

For travellers: don't assume one credit covers a morning workout, lunch outside and an afternoon return.

Indonesia

FitPass creditsFrom IDR 1,250,000 (5 credits)
  • Five credits at IDR 250,000 each, valid for 45 days. Larger packages cost less per credit and last longer.
  • Unused credits expire with no refund or extension.

For travellers: a package makes sense with several realistic chances to train, or a confirmed return trip before it expires.

Australia

Ask the clubConfirm locally
  • Contact your branch for its casual-entry price and what it includes.
  • The free trial requires you to live or work locally and be a first-time visitor. Tourists shouldn’t count on it.

For travellers: ask specifically for paid visitor access and say you're visiting from overseas. A members' guest rate is not a day pass.

Ask the clubConfirm locally
  • Some club pages, including DIFC in Dubai, advertise a free-day-pass enquiry form.
  • That doesn’t tell you whether an overseas visitor qualifies, or what paid access costs.

For travellers: message the exact club with your date and ask for the tourist day rate, booking rules and included facilities.

Is FitPass worth it for a short trip?

FitPass is useful when you want several workouts without a subscription. But a lower price per credit doesn’t mean a cheaper trip. What you really pay is:

Effective workout cost = total paid ÷ workouts actually completed

Take a hypothetical five-visit package costing US$100:

  • Use all 5US$20
  • Use 3US$33
  • Use 2US$50

Illustrative figures, not Fitness First prices.

Arrival days, excursions, work and early flights eat gym time fast. Buy for the workouts you can reasonably fit in, not the routine you hope to keep. Our day pass vs weekly pass vs monthly guide walks through the break-even maths.

Does one credit include the gym and classes?

There’s no safe worldwide answer. Malaysia counts several classes inside one visit. The Philippines sells gym and class credits separately. If you want weights followed by yoga, ask:

Does my package cover both the gym floor and this class during the same visit, or will that use additional credits?

Also confirm:

  • Whether you must book ahead, and when booking opens for FitPass users.
  • Whether specialist classes cost extra.
  • What happens if you cancel or arrive late.

A class on the timetable isn’t a guaranteed place.

Can you use FitPass in another country?

Don’t buy a local FitPass assuming it travels with you. The packages describe local club networks. Check the covered countries and clubs in the terms.

International Passport is a separate membership benefit. Singapore’s published scheme gives eligible members up to 30 visits per calendar year across participating clubs in Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand and the Philippines, subject to club tiers, and it must be activated before travel (International Passport details).

Already a member? Ask your home club first. You may have a travel benefit that changes what you need to buy.

What facilities are included?

Check the branch and your access product together. A club having a pool or sauna doesn’t mean your pass includes it. Confirm what matters to your visit:

  • EquipmentThe weights, machines or space you need.
  • ClassesAvailability and any separate credit.
  • Showers and towelsHandy before sightseeing or meetings.
  • LockersWhether you need a padlock or deposit.
  • Pool and recoveryAccess, opening times, extra charges.
  • Entry hoursWhether a first visit needs staffed reception.

For a quick workout, proximity may matter more than extras. Packing light? Our carry-on gym packing list covers towels and padlocks.

How to arrange a visit while travelling

  1. Choose the exact branch. Check the journey from your accommodation and how it fits your day.
  2. Confirm the right access option. Day pass, FitPass or a membership benefit. Say you’re a tourist.
  3. Check the full cost. Upfront payment, expected workouts, expiry date and transport.
  4. Confirm entry and booking rules. ID, registration, class reservations, arrival time. Save your confirmation before leaving the hotel.

If the website leaves anything unclear, send this:

Hi, I’m visiting from overseas and would like to train at your club on [date]. Do you offer paid day access for tourists? Please confirm the total price, included facilities, whether I can leave and return, and anything I need to bring.

Frequently asked questions

Does Fitness First sell day passes?

In many countries, yes, but not through one worldwide system. The UK sells dated day passes online, Germany sells day and weekly tickets at the club, and several Southeast Asian markets sell prepaid FitPass credits instead.

How much is a Fitness First day pass?

It depends on the country. Germany publishes €19 (RED clubs) or €29 (BLACK clubs) for a day. Thailand advertises a single FitPass credit at THB 1,070. Singapore's smallest FitPass package is five credits at SGD 55 each, SGD 275 in total. UK prices are shown when you pick a club and date.

What is Fitness First FitPass?

A prepaid credit package sold in markets such as Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, the Philippines and Indonesia. You buy credits upfront and redeem them for visits or classes before they expire. Unused credits are generally not refunded.

Can I use FitPass in a different country?

Don't assume so. FitPass packages describe local club networks. Cross-border access is a separate membership benefit called International Passport, with its own eligibility, activation and club-tier rules.

Can tourists use a Fitness First free trial?

Often not. Fitness First Australia's published trial conditions require you to live or work locally and be a first-time visitor. Ask the club for paid visitor access instead.

Find the right gym for your trip with Daily Sweat

Fitness First may be convenient, but compare it with other gyms near where you’re staying, especially when you need one workout and the offer is a five-credit package. Start with the Fitness First chain page, or search your destination to compare day-pass prices, facilities and how to buy. Choose somewhere convenient, confirm the current conditions and get your workout in.

Search a city and use the map to find convenient options. Where available, listings show day-pass and weekly prices, how to buy access, facilities, opening hours, photos, and visitor notes. You can compare nearby alternatives and use website or map links to plan your visit. Chain pages show every branch of a brand with a confirmed pass, and day pass prices compares typical costs by country and city.

Daily Sweat is free to browse, and you don’t need an account to search. It’s a directory: you buy access through the gym or the booking option described in its listing.

Some details will still need checking, particularly when a price is missing or your visit depends on a specific facility. Traveller contributions and corrections help keep the information useful.

The aim is simple: spend less time figuring out where you can train, and more time enjoying the place you came to visit.
