You’ve seen the Acropolis, the hotel gym is a single treadmill, and you’d like to lift before the ferry to the islands. Athens makes it cheap: neighbourhood gyms sell a day pass at the desk, and €10 is the usual price.
Tourists can buy a gym day pass in Athens: as of October 2026, Daily Sweat lists 32 Athens gyms with one, and the 19 with a known price charge from €5 to €45, with €10 the typical price. All 32 sell the pass at the front desk, so you can walk in and pay. The catch: many independent gyms close on Sundays, so check Sunday hours before you set off.
Below: seven gyms worth the trip, then which ones are near your hotel, what passes cost, how buying works, and when a multi-day pass beats paying by the day. For every listing, see all Athens gyms with a day pass or the map, or start from the Greece page.
Seven Athens gyms worth the trip
From €8 neighbourhood gyms to €15–€20 bigger clubs and a €45 pool-and-spa club, from Neapoli and Kypseli to Pangrati and Syntagma. Each gym’s card shows the listing’s current price and when it was last checked.
1. Body Fitness Club — €8 in Neapoli
Body Fitness Club, at Mavromichali 66, sells its €8 day pass at the front desk, a price quoted again and again in reviews through July 2026; a month costs €50. It is a small ground-floor gym with the essentials and showers; the upstairs studios aren’t included in the pass. Hours are 8am–11pm on weekdays and 10am–8pm on Saturdays, and it is closed on Sundays.
2. Flexxus Gym — €10 at the desk in Koukaki
Flexxus Gym, at Aglavrou 11, is a simple walk-in session: reviews call the €10 day pass easy to pay for at the desk. Hours are 10am–10pm on weekdays and 10am–6pm on Saturdays; it is closed on Sundays and doesn’t open before 10am. Check the gym’s page for directions, as it has no website.
3. Golden Gym Kypseli — €10 with classes included
Golden Gym Kypseli, at Kipselis 32 north of the centre, charged a June 2025 visitor €10 for a day pass, against €55 for a month. Group classes are included in gym use, and there are lockers on site. Hours are 8am–11pm on weekdays and 10am–6pm on Saturdays; it is closed on Sundays (official site).

Hours are 7am–midnight on weekdays, 9am–10pm on Saturdays and 10am–7pm on Sundays (official site). Closer to the centre, Alterlife Pangrati - Alsos, at Frinis 1, also sells a day pass, confirmed by a visitor review: a three-storey club with strength machines, free weights and cardio, on the same hours. Its price isn’t published, so ask at reception. See the Alterlife chain page for its other branches.
6. Bodyshape Gym — a serious floor for €20
Bodyshape Gym, at Psaron 38, charged an April 2026 visitor €20 for a day pass or €60 for five days; reviewers in July 2026 confirm the pass and call it steep but fair. It is a serious bodybuilding gym, recently refitted, with changing rooms and showers. Hours are 9am–11:30pm on weekdays and 11am–9pm on Saturdays; it is closed on Sundays (official site).
7. Holmes Place Athens City Link — €45 for a pool and hammam by Syntagma

It sells a €45 day pass and a €120 week pass, both quoted by visitors in August 2026, covering a full gym floor, the 25 m pool, a Swedish and infrared sauna and the hammam. Hours are 6:30am–11:30pm on weekdays and 8am–9pm at weekends (official site).
Where to train, by neighbourhood

- Syntagma: Holmes Place Athens City Link (€45).
- Exarchia, Neapoli and Kolonaki: Body Fitness Club (€8), Utopia Fitness Club Exarchia (€10 in October 2025, 15 minutes’ walk from the centre), Athlesis on Tsakalof (€18, also sold online) and Yava Fitness Ippokratous, where a 2024 visitor paid €10.

- Kypseli: Golden Gym Kypseli (€10).
Daily Sweat records showers at 5 of the 32 listings, free weights at 4, a power rack at 1 (Yava Fitness Ippokratous) and a sauna and pool at 1 (Holmes Place); a blank means unconfirmed, not missing. For heavy lifting, Bodyshape Gym and ULTRAFLEX, a powerlifting and bodybuilding gym in Peristeri, are the specialists. Short on time? See hotel gym vs gym day pass or our 30-minute hotel gym workout.

- €5–€8: Body Fitness Club and Eight Boutique Gym (€8, booked on the gym’s website in May 2025). The €5 at Viking Gym Athens (March 2025) and GYM HYPER (February 2022) are old reports.
- €10, the typical price: Flexxus Gym, Golden Gym Kypseli, Utopia Fitness Club Exarchia, Hyper Progressive Gym, Fitness Factory and New York Power Gym.
- €14–€20: Gym Look (€14), Pagratio Gym and Alterlife (€15), ULTRAFLEX Gym Peristeri (€17), Athlesis (€18) and Bodyshape Gym and Strong Eleven (€20).

Each gym’s page shows where its price came from and when it was last checked — confirm before you travel, especially in summer.
Buying a pass: what to know
Walk in and pay at the desk
All 32 listed gyms sell the pass at the front desk; carry a card and some euros in cash. A few want notice: Strong Eleven sells its passes by appointment, a May 2025 visitor booked Eight Boutique Gym’s on its website, and Athlesis also sells online. Check today’s hours before you set off — Body Fitness Club, Flexxus Gym, Golden Gym Kypseli, Gym Look, Bodyshape Gym and Strong Eleven are among the gyms listed as closed on Sundays, while Pagratio Gym, Alterlife and Holmes Place open. Flexxus opens at 10am and Strong Eleven only from 5pm on weekdays; Pagratio Gym and Alterlife open at 7am.
What the pass leaves out
Golden Gym Kypseli asks you to bring your own towel, and Alterlife Pangrati - Alsos advises a padlock for the lockers, so pack both, with training shoes, plus swimwear if you’re heading to Holmes Place. Gym Look has no air conditioning, so go early in summer. Several Athens gyms have raised their prices recently, so confirm the current one. One message settles most of it
Hello, I’m visiting Athens and would like to train today. Do you sell a day pass, how much is it, and are you open this evening?
Day pass or multi-day pass?
Athens gyms sell several short-stay packs, and some pay off from your third visit:
- Bodyshape Gym: €60 for five days against €20 a day, so it pays off from your fourth visit.
- Strong Eleven: €50 for three days against €20 for one, on the gym’s own site; passes are by appointment, one person per pass.
- Holmes Place Athens City Link: a €120 week pass against €45 a day, cheaper from your third visit.
ULTRAFLEX, Gym Look and FT-Club also sell weekly or multi-day passes, price not recorded, and Yava sold a visitor a 7-day pass in July 2025. Our day, weekly and monthly pass guide does the maths.

Find an Athens gym that fits your trip
Daily Sweat keeps every Athens gym with a confirmed day pass on one page, with the price, how to buy, opening hours and facilities for each. Start with the Athens gym list to filter by facility, or open the map to see what is near your hotel, then confirm visitor hours and ID rules with the gym before you set off.
Search a city and use the map to find convenient options. Where available, listings show day-pass and weekly prices, how to buy access, facilities, opening hours, photos, and visitor notes. You can compare nearby alternatives and use website or map links to plan your visit. Chain pages show every branch of a brand with a confirmed pass, and day pass prices compares typical costs by country and city.
Daily Sweat is free to browse, and you don’t need an account to search. It’s a directory: you buy access through the gym or the booking option described in its listing.
Some details will still need checking, particularly when a price is missing or your visit depends on a specific facility. Traveller contributions and corrections help keep the information useful.
The aim is simple: spend less time figuring out where you can train, and more time enjoying the place you came to visit.
