Rome Gym Day Passes: Where to Train, Prices and Tips for Tourists

Yazan: Daily Sweat8 dk okuma

You’ve spent the morning walking from the Vatican to Trevi, and your hotel near Termini has no gym. You’d like one proper workout before dinner without signing up for a month.

Quick answer

Yes: as of September 2026, 43 Rome gyms on Daily Sweat sell a day pass, from €8 to €50 and typically €18 (roughly US$21 at September 2026 exchange rates). All 43 sell it at the front desk, so you can usually walk in and pay at reception. The rule that most often catches visitors out is the towel: four of them require you to bring your own.

Below: eight gyms worth the trip, then which ones are near your hotel, what passes cost, how buying works, and when a weekly pass beats paying by the day. For every listing, see every Rome gym with a day pass or the map, or browse the Italy page.

Eight Rome gyms worth the trip

Rome’s day passes come mostly from independent neighbourhood gyms, plus the Virgin Active and Anytime Fitness chains. The picks run from €8 to €50 across the neighbourhoods where visitors tend to stay. Each gym’s card shows the listing’s current price and when it was last checked.

1. Re di Roma Sporting Club — €8, the cheapest listed day pass

  1. Re di Roma Sporting ClubVia Appia Nuova, Rome8.00 EUR day passShowersChecked Sep 2026€8, the lowest price in Rome, with weights, classes and clean warm showers.

Re di Roma Sporting Club, at Via Appia Nuova 226, sold a tourist an €8 day pass at the front desk in June 2026. The club’s own site advertises single entry to the weights room and classes with no medical certificate (official site). Hours are 8am–10:30pm on weekdays and 8am–7pm on Saturdays, but only 10am–12:30pm on Sundays.

Before you go: pack a padlock, as the reviewer advises.

2. Fitness Center Prati — €10 near the Vatican

  1. Fitness Center PratiVia Famagosta, Rome10.00 EUR day passChecked Sep 2026€10 a day or €30 a week near the Vatican.

Fitness Center Prati, on Via Famagosta, sells its €10 day pass at the front desk (an August 2026 review); a visitor from Australia bought the €30 weekly pass there in May 2026. Hours are 7:15am–9:45pm on weekdays, 9am–5pm on Saturdays and 8:30am–12:30pm on Sundays.

Before you go: ask about showers and lockers. The listing has no facility details yet.

3. Silver Fitness Porta Portese — €10 on the Lungotevere

Anytime Fitness Giolitti, at Via Giolitti 331, charged €15 for a visit at the front desk in May 2026. The catch: day passes are sold only during staffed hours, although the club is listed as open 24 hours, and a member called it overcrowded in October 2025 (official club page). The Regina Margherita and Lorenzo il Magnifico (Nomentano) clubs are listed at the same €15, taken from Giolitti, so confirm it there; our Anytime Fitness page has other branches.

Before you go: ask when reception is staffed, and agree the price before you pay.

5. Suite Brancaccio Fitness — €15 for weekday lifting near Colle Oppio

Free weights and multifunction machines; it’s closed at weekends, open 8am–9pm on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, and only 1pm–9pm on Tuesdays and Thursdays.

Before you go: plan around the timetable, as there are no weekend sessions.

Reviewers describe plenty of kit around the downstairs racks; the listing records showers, free weights and a power rack. It opens 6am–11pm on weekdays and 8am–8pm at weekends (official site).

Piazza Indipendenza, on Via Curtatone, lists a sauna and a pool, with hours of 6:30am–11pm on weekdays and 8am–8pm at weekends (official club page); for the others, check hours on the gym’s page or start from our Virgin Active page.

Before you go: ask your hotel about agreements with a nearby club; the price may differ under them.

Where to train, by neighbourhood

Fitness Center Prati’s €10 pass is a bargain if you’re staying in Prati, less so if you’re based at Termini, where Anytime Fitness Giolitti charges €15 — count return transport and any extras you’ll actually use. The Rome gym map shows what’s closest to your hotel.

Of the 43 listings, 12 record free weights and 6 a power rack: Icon Palestre Barberini, Anytime Fitness Giolitti, Omega Fitness Club, San Giovanni Sport Club, Mister Gym and Trastevere Fitness. For recovery, 7 record a sauna and 6 a pool, among them Doria Center, Virgin Active Piazza Indipendenza and Centro Sportivo Santa Maria (€18).

How much does a gym day pass cost in Rome?

A gym day pass in Rome costs €8 to €50, typically €18, as of September 2026. That covers the 38 of 43 day-pass listings with a known price. What drives the difference:

  • The type of gym. Neighbourhood independents are cheapest: €8 at Re di Roma Sporting Club, and €10 at Fitness Center Prati, Silver Fitness Porta Portese and The Energy Club. Several central independents charge €20, including Moves, Icon Palestre Barberini, Monti Fitness and Palestre Italiane Roma Termini.
  • Wellness extras. H2O Concept near Trevi charged €29 for gym plus sauna in April 2026. Doria Center Fitness Club by Piazza Venezia charges €30 for the equipment only, or €50 with the locker room, sauna, steam room and pool (reviews, 2026).
  • Full clubs. Virgin Active charges €30 to €50 by club, all club services included, and Heaven Villa Borghese €50.

Each gym’s page shows where its price came from and when it was last checked — confirm before you travel, especially in peak season.

Buying a pass: what to know

Walk in and pay at the desk — with cash and ID

Every listed gym sells at the front desk, but carry euros in cash: Mister Gym (€15) is listed as cash only, reviews say the same of The Energy Club (€10), and the latest visitor to Moves paid in cash. Have ID ready — San Giovanni Sport Club sells its day pass with ID, and Heaven Villa Borghese (€50) asks for your passport and, reviews from 2025 to April 2026 say, wants your hotel to email ahead first; one visitor was told there were no day passes at all. Anytime Fitness Giolitti sells only while reception is staffed, and Dolphin Fitness Center in Trastevere quoted its €15 day pass for advance bookings (a July 2026 review).

Medical certificates for longer passes

Re di Roma Sporting Club’s site advertises single entry without a medical certificate, but reviews say San Giovanni Sport Club needs one for more than one day. Ask wherever you buy more than a single visit.

What the pass leaves out

Bring a towel: four of the 43 listings require one, including Mister Gym, San Giovanni Sport Club and Dolphin Fitness Center, and Mister Gym is the only one that also asks for clean indoor shoes. Only 10 listings record showers, so ask if you’re going straight on to dinner. Pack a padlock too, and check today’s hours: many gyms here close early at weekends, and some shut altogether on Sundays. Our carry-on gym packing list covers towels and padlocks, and how to find a gym day pass while travelling explains the general method.

One message settles most of it

Hello, I’m visiting Rome and would like to train on [date]. Do you sell a day pass for visitors, and what does it cost? Can I pay by card, and do I need ID, a towel or indoor shoes?
Avete un ingresso giornaliero? (Do you have a day pass?)

Day pass or weekly pass?

Buy a week pass if you’ll train three or more times. Three of the 43 Rome listings sell one as of September 2026, and at each, three day passes cost at least as much as the week:

GymDay passWeek pass
Fitness Center Prati€10€30
Suite Brancaccio Fitness€15€45
Moves€20€55

Before you commit, ask about the medical certificate: at San Giovanni Sport Club, reviewers in June and December 2025 say more than one day needs an Italian medical certificate. Staying a month? Fitness Center Prati’s monthly membership was €75 in April 2026, plus a one-off €5 for the plastic membership card. Our day, week or month guide walks through the break-even maths.
